Junior Fun Day at Seddon Park

  • On Thursday 14th December 2023, Seddon Cricket Club hosted a Fun Day at Seddon Park for the girls and boys that are attending the Hawkes Bay Cricket Camps in January.

The purpose of the evening was to hand out all the playing shirts, dress polos and of course our pink & burgundy playing cap! as well as meet their future team mates.

120 young players (10 teams) will represent Seddon Cricket Club at Riverbend. It was wonderful to see so many parents attend also and hang around to socialise with each other.

The players were exposed to some great coaching by PJ Williams, Josh Hill, Paul Hodder, Ryan Preston, Corey Hyde and Tyler Edwards. They learned about running between wickets, catching, ground fielding, batting, bowling and the history of Seddon Park. They were also treated to Mr Whippy and Burger Fuel fries.

The older kids had the privilege of having a net session out on the main block - that was a great experience for them! Some players even had the chance to roll the pitch!

This event wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic support from Karl Johnson and his magnificent ground staff.

A big thank you to Mr Whippy NZ and Cameron McLeod at Burger Fuel.

Thank you to Seddon Park you're ground once again looks absolutely amazing and it's so cool how the community get to experience running around on it.
