Kindred Cricket

New Zealand’s Over 35s
Club Cricket Competition

Kindred Cricket was created so that cricketers over the age of 35 could continue their cricketing careers in the surroundings of a competitive, family-friendly tournament environment.

At Kindred Cricket the focus is on enjoyment and playing with and against like-minded players in a relaxed club setting. And it’s a chance for everyone involved to reflect on all that is good about the great game.

We encourage clubs and their playing representatives to look at game days as family affairs with a festive and ‘picnic type’ feel. Naturally, the competitive spirit between teams and players will still play its part, but the Kindred spirit should always be the overriding reason why teams play.

During and after play we recognise and respect the traditions and values of cricket. And we mix this with a welcoming social atmosphere where players, wives, partners and families can renew old friendships and create new ones.

We also set a high standard of the pitches and fields we play on. All are good. Many are outstanding!

Is Kindred Cricket for you?

If you’ve retired from or cannot commit your time to serious competitive play, but wish to continue participating for sheer enjoyment, Kindred Cricket is the perfect place to play.

We are ‘inclusive not exclusive’.

On top of that, we believe that making the decision to keep playing has a positive effect on cricket as a whole - highlighting and promoting the sport around New Zealand and encouraging enthusiasts to retain an active interest.
