Supporters HQ Wrap

  • One of the main purposes for Seddon Cricket Club is creating a platform for cricket lovers to connect, giving them the opportunity to share many stories about their own wonderful cricket experiences. Friendships for life are often formed and new initiatives to help grow the game are often created.

In conjunction with Good George - Dining Hall, it was absolutely amazing to host a Supporters HQ throughout the duration of the Test. The place was heaving after the close of play. The Good George crew are so easy to deal with and it’s great to be able to work with such likeminded people where people’s fun and enjoyment comes before bureaucracy and box ticking.

Members of our club have made friends for life with many English supporters, who have also signed up to join our growing membership.

The great Mike Gatting was a genuine drawcard on Saturday night as to was Neil Wagner at the Curators Breakfast on Monday morning.

At the ground itself, we welcomed into our marquee many visitors from around NZ. It was great to host the crew from Haberdashers in Central North Island, staff members from Whanganui Collegiate, members of the Cobham Cricket Club, members from Kaimai Cricket Club, and many more of our own members who live in different parts of our country and world.

It was fun to play our small role in making the Seddon Park test match a huge success for Hamilton. Hopefully we brought plenty of colour to the occasion.
