Friday saw Seddon Cricket Club and The WaterBoy with Lugtons host the second annual World's Greatest Cricket Quiz at Good George Brewing Dining Hall.

Cricket enthusiasts were blessed by the presence of ‘Steady the Ship’ Kane Williamson, together with first officers, BJ Watling and Tim Seifert! In New Zealand we are very lucky to have accessibility to some of our star sportspeople – we love you for it!

Thank you for getting outside your comfort zone and into the dress-up theme alongside adoring fans. This was a very special opportunity for our community to get a taste of cricket royalty first-hand. Thanks for giving your time to help us have a great night and raise money to go toward supporting Cricket and local sport.

The team at Good George did an amazing job turning on another incredible event.

A huge thank you to the businesses who supported this event with prizes, donations, and sponsorship. Namely Power Farming New Zealand, GLOBOX, Murray Wallace at Blue Wallace Surveyors and The Alternative Commentary Collective for the incredible prize donations.

Although events like this are mainly organised to connect good cricket people together, there is always a fundraising element to it - We are pleased to announce that we raised a total of $15,500! Some of this money will go into the BJ Watling Scholarship Fund, plus other junior cricket initiatives.

Congratulations to The Bin Chins for again winning the World’s Greatest Cricket Quiz. They have gone Back To Back! They are starting to build a dynasty – I didn’t see their Team Captain perform a back spin though?

Well done to the teams that dressed up in fantastic cricket related costumes. You added plenty of colour and atmosphere to the event.
